Instructions
Pour 2 cups of no-sugar-added lemonade and 2 cups of no-sugar-added grape juice into a large pitcher. Stir gently to combine. The mixture will turn a deep, rich purple color.
Pour a small splash of lemonade onto a flat plate. Spread purple sanding sugar onto a separate flat plate.
Dip the rim of each glass into the lemonade, then immediately press and rotate it gently into the purple sanding sugar to coat the rim evenly. Let glasses rest for one to two minutes.
Fill each rimmed glass with ice. Pour the purple mocktail over the ice and serve immediately.
Notes
Use Concord grape juice for the deepest purple color and best flavor.Lemonade on the rim works better than water because it helps the sanding sugar adhere and stay put through the whole drink. For a sparkling version, replace half of the lemonade with plain sparkling water or no-sugar sparkling lemonade.Mix the pitcher up to 24 hours ahead and refrigerate. Do the sugared rims right before serving.Scale up evenly for larger batches. The 1:1 ratio works at any volume.
