2021

I don’t think there are quite any words to sum up what the last year has been.

2017 made me a fiancé. 2018 made me a wife. 2019 broke me down mentally and I’ve been fighting to claw back from that. I found out I was pregnant, cut toxic family out of my life, and started to heal. 2020 made me a mom, but 2021 I grew.

I grew into someone I have always dreamed of being. I am loyal, I am passionate, I am kind.

I advocate for others, I started speaking on my hurts and advocating for myself, and I really have begun to find my voice.

For 2022, I am going to remain someone who walks with integrity. I will be intentional and present. So what does that look like? That looks like prioritizing myself when I need to so I can give to others when they need it. It looks like regular gym visits, mental health check-ins, and healthier eating.

My focus is to feel healthy, not lose weight or reach a certain pant size. I don’t want my daughter to remember that her mom was obsessed with “never losing those last 20 pounds.” And there’s no shame if that’s where you are at, I just know for myself that’s not what health truly looks like.

Professionally, I’m not quite as sure what 2022 will bring. I’ve had some struggles in my career in 2021, and I’m not willing to accept less than I deserve. I pray that 2022 sees a movement of change, positivity, and light through my workplace. I will do my best to make each day a little bit better than the one before.

Through my blog, Instagram, Tiktok, Facebook and Pinterest, I will continue to grow. I want to provide content that my followers can relate to. I want moms and traumatic childhood survivors to know they aren’t alone and that they can choose to have better for themselves and their families.

As a mom, I strive to continue to learn parenting skills and tools to help me communicate to my daughter and husband. This includes take time when I need it, being present in the big and small moments, and everything in between.

I hope you all have a blessed holiday season with your family and can’t wait to see what 2022 looks like for all of you!
