My Wish For You

An Open Letter to My Daughter: My Heartfelt Wishes for Your Future

Dear Daughter,

As I sit down to write this letter, my heart swells with love, pride, and endless hopes for your future. There are so many things I wish for you—things I hope will guide and inspire you throughout your life. You’ve already brought so much light into my world, and I want nothing more than to see that light continue to shine brightly, no matter where life takes you.

May You Always Be True to Yourself

First and foremost, I wish for you to always be true to yourself. In a world that often pressures us to conform, I hope you never feel the need to compromise who you are to fit in. Your unique personality, quirks, and passions are what make you so special, and I want you to embrace every part of that. Don’t be afraid to stand out or go against the grain—there’s beauty in being different, and the world needs more of your kind of light.

Stay Curious and Never Stop Learning

Another thing I wish for you is an endless sense of curiosity. Life is filled with opportunities to learn and grow, and I hope you approach each day with wonder. Whether it’s learning about different cultures, exploring new ideas, or simply asking questions about the world around you—stay curious. The more you learn, the more you’ll discover just how much there is to love about this world.

Embrace Kindness and Compassion

I also wish for you to carry kindness and compassion in your heart. The world can be tough at times, and people may not always treat you with the respect or love you deserve. But I hope you always choose kindness, even in the face of adversity. You never know the battles others are fighting, and a little compassion can go a long way in making someone’s day brighter. Treat others with love, and you’ll find that it will come back to you tenfold.

Find Strength in Your Vulnerability

One of the hardest lessons I’ve learned in life is that it’s okay to be vulnerable. I hope you never feel like you have to hide your emotions or put up walls to protect yourself. There is immense strength in allowing yourself to feel deeply and express those emotions, whether they’re tears of joy or sadness. Vulnerability is what makes us human, and it’s also what connects us to others on a deeper level.

Chase Your Dreams, Even When They Seem Impossible

Dream big, my love. There will be moments in life when your dreams feel out of reach, or others may tell you they’re too far-fetched. But I want you to remember that nothing is impossible if you’re willing to work for it. Set your sights high, chase your passions, and don’t be afraid to take risks. Even if things don’t always go as planned, the journey will teach you invaluable lessons, and you’ll grow stronger along the way.

Know That You Are Loved—Unconditionally

Above all, my greatest wish for you is that you never doubt how deeply loved you are. No matter where life takes you or what challenges you face, you will always have my love and support. You are worthy of love, just as you are, and there’s nothing you could ever do to change that. As you grow older, you’ll face moments of self-doubt, but I hope you always remember that you are enough—exactly as you are.

Final Thoughts

As I close this letter, I want you to know that I am so incredibly proud of the person you’re becoming. You have already brought so much joy, laughter, and love into my life, and I can’t wait to see all the amazing things you’ll accomplish. Keep shining your light, my sweet girl, and never forget that I’m always here for you, cheering you on every step of the way.

With all my love,
Mom

What would be your biggest wish?

Post Script – I originally wrote this shortly after my daughter and it has sat in my drafts for much too long. I have an odd habit of writing things, but then not fully publishing them and that is going to change this year in 2024. I have learned to pursue with fever the things that I love, and one of them is open and honest blogging. I hope you will stay a long for the ride. If you haven’t already, be sure to check out the updates to the home page as well as the about page!
