Sharing My Story

Unapologetically Me

Welcome to my journey of embracing self-love, discovering the power of authentic storytelling, and learning to celebrate my unique path. Now, well into my 30th year, I’ve come to realize how pivotal the past five years have been in helping me grow, connect deeply with my story, and find my voice. Join me in reflecting on the highs, lows, and everything in between on this personal growth journey, and let’s embrace the beauty of living unapologetically. I originally wrote this blog post back in 2019, at a time when I was just starting to consider the idea of blogging. Since then, it’s been a journey filled with discovery, personal growth, and a lot of learning along the way. Here you will find adventures, recipes, a little about my life, gift ideas, and more!

Now, a few years down the road, my life looks different, and so does the way I see the world. Back then, I was 25, married to my best friend Shane, and just figuring out where I fit in this new chapter of life. Today, I’m 30, still happily married, and now more certain than ever about what I want to do and who I want to be.

Embracing Self-Love in Your 30s

Now that I’m well into my 30th year, I’ve had the chance to reflect on the changes and personal growth of the past five years. My late 20s were filled with self-discovery, transformation, and learning to embrace self-love. Looking back, I see the pressures I felt in my early 20s to follow a particular path, to appear “put together,” and to have all the answers. But over the last few years, I’ve started to understand that true happiness comes from being fully and authentically myself, even if that means embracing imperfections along the way.

Today, I view self-love as an ongoing journey—one that takes practice and intention. There’s real freedom in letting go of others’ expectations and living fully for myself. When I reflect on these last five years, I see how the ups and downs helped me understand who I am and what really matters. Embracing self-love is not about chasing perfection. It’s about allowing ourselves to be human, to make mistakes, and to accept each phase of life with grace.

If I could go back, I would tell my 25-year-old self: You don’t need to have it all figured out. For anyone else in a season of self-discovery, my biggest takeaway would be this: embracing self-love isn’t just a phrase. It’s a practice, a journey, and a lifelong commitment to showing up for yourself.

Authentic Storytelling for Self-Discovery

Reflecting on the past five years, I realize that sharing my story has been one of the most empowering things I could do. Through blogging, I discovered that authentic storytelling has allowed me to connect deeply with my own experiences. Each high and low has shaped me. Writing about these moments helps me process them and connect with others who might be going through something similar.

This blog has become a safe space where I can be myself, unapologetically, and where I hope to encourage others to do the same. Finding your voice isn’t about achieving a perfect story; it’s about embracing honesty and vulnerability. Authentic storytelling and sharing our stories are some of the best ways to inspire personal growth—both for ourselves and for those reading.

Finding Your Voice Through Personal Growth

When I look back on the last five years, I can see how blogging has helped me in my own personal growth journey. Writing and sharing stories has made me more comfortable in my own skin, more confident in my voice, and more accepting of my path. As a result, finding my voice has encouraged me to be kinder to myself and others.

I used to think that to be “good enough,” I had to have everything figured out. For instance, as I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized that personal growth is about the journey, not the destination. Finding your voice is part of that journey—learning what matters most to you, sharing your experiences with honesty, and letting yourself be open to growth. It’s about moving forward, no matter how messy or unpredictable life can be.

Moving Forward with Gratitude

As I move through my 30th year, I am filled with gratitude for the lessons of the past and excitement for what’s to come. My personal growth journey has shown me the value of authenticity, resilience, and embracing self-love at every stage. I’m more committed than ever to nurturing this blog as a space for connection, honesty, and reflection. Here’s to our beautiful, imperfect lives—may we continue to live unapologetically, embracing every step along the way.

Thank you for being here with me and for sharing in this journey. I can’t wait to see what lies ahead!

From The Beginning of Writing A Blog

I have often thought about writing a blog, and then thought, well, I don’t really have anything important to share. HOW MESSED UP IS THAT?! It’s sad that in today’s society you grow up comparing yourself to everyone around you. The girl in your highschool who was way prettier than you. Your coworker who is better then you. The ladies at church who are move involved with you… The list of those you compare yourself to just goes on. and on. and on… All of these things lead to me to believe that what I was interested in, and what I was doing didn’t matter.

GUESS WHAT. THOSE FEELINGS AREN’T TRUE.

I’ve come to realize, through a lot of support from my support system is that every voice is important. Everyone has a story tell. So what’s mine? Throw in some childhood trauma, a tumultuous teenage love story that ended pretty rough, and a few too many drinks in college (sorry grandma). The one thing I want you to know about me is that through so many life experiences I have learned that all I really want to do is make the world a better place. I want to leave each person that I interact with just a little bit happier. Their lives just a little bit more full of joy from knowing me.

Sometimes, I am a bit emotional. I am very passionate about things that are important to me. All I can say is–I am unapologetically me.

Stick around awhile. You will hear authentic storytelling things about life, family, friends, faith, and a whole lot more as I share my thoughts and hopefully receive feedback from you, too.
