Gree Mini Split Air Conditioner
When we purchased our home, we were at first apprehensive about buying a house without central air conditioning – our house only had a mini split air conditioner so we started to do our research. Mini splits are more energy-efficient than central air conditioners, and they’re also much quieter. When we bought the house, it had a preinstalled ductless air conditioner Panasonic mini split. It worked alright for a while, but after a few years, it started to show its age. The air flow wasn’t as strong, and the noise level was getting on my nerves- not only was the outside unit unbearably loud to be around right on our patio, but the inside unit had a high pitched whistle and the swing motor stopped working so the air blew directly at the ground.
Don’s Filter and Furnace in Dickinson installed our unit efficiently and correctly – we found the location the previous unit had been mounted did not allow for proper air flow intake and so Don’s relocated the unit to ensure that we got the best air flow while still allowing for circulation throughout the upper level of our home.
I decided it was time to upgrade to a new ductless air conditioner mini split. After I did some research, I decided on a 24,000 BTU GREE mini split. I am impressed with the features of the GREE unit like how easy it is to control and the smart integration.
The Ease of Control
The GREE mini split is very easy to control. The remote control is intuitive and easy to use. With the remote, you can also turn the numbers display on and off on the interior wall unit. You can also control the unit with your smartphone using the GREE app. The app allows you to set schedules, change the temperature, and even check the energy usage. The app works flawlessly and even has the capability to temperature sense, so you aren’t running the air conditioner longer than necessary.
The Smart Integration
The GREE mini split is also compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. This means you can control the unit with your voice. For example, you can say, “Alexa, set the living room temperature to 72 degrees” or “Google, turn on the bedroom air conditioner.” A huge bonus for us is that over half our home is set up with Amazon Alexa, making it super easy to change the temperature or turn the AC on and off.
The Quiet Operation Air Conditioner
One of the things I am most impressed with about the GREE mini split is how quiet it is. The outdoor unit is very quiet, and the indoor unit is whisper-quiet. I can barely hear it running even when I’m sitting right next to it. As a content creator, this is huge for me because I was having to shut my AC off to shoot content that I wanted to keep the audio, and that meant a warmer house during hot summer days. Now, I’m able to enjoy the comfortable coolness and have usable audio.
But Wait, There’s More
Not only does the mini split from GREE offer ease of use, energy efficiency, and quiet operation, but it also offers a heat mode to keep your house warm, too! Our home has baseboard heat which is often costly and with little kids it’s honestly a nightmare worrying about them shoving items into the baseboard or touching it and burning their fingers – now with our Gree Mini Split we can turn setting over to heat and set the temperature to a comfortable heating level that circulates the warm air and protects our kiddos fingers!
Overall, I’m beyond happy with my new GREE mini split. It’s more energy-efficient than my old Panasonic unit, it’s much quieter, and it’s easier to control. I would definitely recommend the GREE mini split to anyone looking for a new air conditioner.
