The Undem Family Adventures at Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive

Growing up in North Dakota, I didn’t get a lot of opportunities to travel. Now that Shane and I are able to spend time traveling, I really love visiting Florida.

We have been to Orlando twice and just got back from an amazing stay at the Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive. For Shane’s birthday, we decided to head back to Orlando for our annual kid-free trip. The last time we traveled to Orlando I was 7 months pregnant and missed out on some fun experiences so I was excited to go back. I knew about all the big parks and things to do, but never did I know that there were so many other cool places to stay. We were so excited to be hosted at such a gorgeous property.

The resort is located right off the main road, right near the main shopping district and a short walk—or a super fun electric scooter ride—away from ICON Park. The resort is compromised of multiple buildings to accommodate a large variety of guests but is not so large that you feel like you get swallowed by the property. All of the buildings are within walking distance of the room you choose to stay in. A beautiful 24-hour fitness facility features a variety of cardio equipment, free weights, cables, and even saunas located in the respective men’s and women’s restroom/shower room areas. Two pools are also conveniently located in the center of the property—with one designated as a “quiet” pool for a more relaxing experience.

If you intend to travel for business, Wyndham Orlando Resort boasts 60,000 square feet of conference space to fit your needs.

The grounds are well maintained and feature beautiful water features and landscaping that provide a comfortable feel even located so close to International Drive’s busy action. There are also two onsite dining opportunities as well as a coffee bar.

When we checked in, the staff were incredibly accommodating and friendly, and we received not one, but two, service calls to our room to ensure that everything was to our liking.

The deluxe king suite we were hosted in was incredibly spacious and absolutely blew us away. Directly inside the first interior door is a small half-bath—with plenty of counter space to get ready in if needed. Located right across the hall from the bathroom is a closet to store any luggage or items you may have. This area opens up into an open concept plan with a tastefully styled living room holding a coffee table, two chairs, and a sofa seat paired with a flatscreen TV and some decorative bookcases.

The living room opens out to a double-wide balcony with a view of the resort including the creek that runs through the resort, the palm trees, and a gorgeous bridge and gazebo.

The living room transitions into the dining room area with a full-sized, modern table to eat meals—and room to invite friends into your room, if you’d like. There is also a wet bar with a mini-fridge and bar stools to enjoy a snack or a drink. The main living and entertaining space are separated by paneled doors to offer privacy to the enormous bedroom and connected bathroom. The bedroom has an additional, private balcony with a view and the bathroom included a full shower room, a deep, large tub, and an enclosed toilet space. The two large countertops with lighted mirrors provide excellent space to get ready while on vacation.

We were absolutely in love with our room, and while the resort is impressive and gorgeous, this sprawling room earns a strong 10/10 from myself and my husband Shane.

His birthday in Orlando was exciting and special, we were incredibly pleased with our stay. One of the nights, we grabbed a few drinks and early dinner from the Gatorville restaurant located on the property and the food was delicious—I had a fish sandwich—and the staff was friendly and attentive.

Overall, we loved the entire stay at the resort and would recommend Wydham Orlando Resort International Drive to anyone—from families to couples, business, and leisure trips.
